Aeromexico and Delta Air Lines today announced three new nonstop routes connecting Mexico City International Airport (MEX) with John Wayne Airport, Orange County, California (SNA); Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Florida (FLL); and Portland International Airport, Oregon (PDX), further strengthening connectivity between Mexico and the United States under the airlines’ Joint Cooperation Agreement.
Operated by Aeromexico, the new routes will begin service in January 2027 and will operate daily, year-round aboard Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft equipped with personal seatback entertainment throughout the cabin and configured with 166 seats: 16 in Premier Class, 18 in AM Plus and 132 in Economy.
Upon launch, Aeromexico will be the only airline offering nonstop service between Mexico City and each of the three destinations. The additions will expand the Aeromexico-Delta JCA network to 27 U.S. destinations from Mexico City.
"We are thrilled to announce three new routes to the United States, one of the most dynamic and strategically important markets for Mexico’s international connectivity." said Giancarlo Mulinelli, Aeromexico's Senior Vice President of Global Sales. "The addition of these destinations will give our customers new options to enjoy the wide range of tourism experiences both countries have to offer, while opening new opportunities for business and trade."
Together, Orange County, Fort Lauderdale and Portland offer a diverse range of leisure experiences across the United States.
Orange County provides convenient access to 42 miles of Pacific coastline and some of the most popular theme parks in Anaheim, Southern California. From Laguna Beach’s arts community and coves to Newport Beach’s harbor and Huntington Beach’s surfing heritage, the county’s coastal communities each have a distinct character, while renowned shopping districts broaden the destination’s appeal.
Fort Lauderdale’s beaches, extensive network of waterways and year-round warm climate make it the perfect choice for outdoor recreation. The city’s proximity to Port Everglades makes it convenient for travelers to add a South Florida stay before or after a cruise.
Portland pairs a celebrated culinary scene and independent character with access to the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Its craft breweries and distinctive neighborhoods are complemented by nearby attractions including the Columbia River Gorge, Mount Hood and the Willamette Valley wine region.
